Contract lecturers, visiting professors and visiting scientists

External lecturers

The courses can include a single event or take place regularly. Contract lecturers are not employees of the university but rather independent contractors. The departments are responsible for contacting Human Resources to request teaching assignments. Human Resources then reviews the requests, checking them for conformity with the respective requirements, before approving them. After the course is over, Human Resources takes care of calculating the amounts due for the teaching units taught and any travel expenses the contract lecturers have incurred. Contract lecturers will then be paid by the Landesamt für Besoldung und Versorgung (LVB).
