Doctoral Fund

"The Doctoral Fund, launched as part of the Excellence Strategy, provides funding for doctoral researchers. With this tool, the University of Konstanz aims to improve the working conditions of junior researchers.

The Doctoral Fund supports doctoral researchers at the University of Konstanz in establishing research networks. Four times per year they can apply for grants to finance conference trips, research stays, data collection and the organization of workshops. All accepted doctoral researchers from the University of Konstanz can apply."

AFF - Dissertation Completion Funding

The Committee on Research states: "Supervisors can apply for dissertation completion grants (50% TV-L E 13 staff position for up to three months) to support their doctoral researchers in the final stage of their thesis work. This funding line also supports doctoral researchers who face hardship due to the Corona pandemic. Proposals usually form part of the AFF annual or supplementary call, but can also stand alone."

Dr. August and Annelies Karst Foundation

"The purpose of the foundation is the promotion of science and research in the humanities at the University of Konstanz.

Examples of the types of projects supported by the foundation include: research work, work on an edition, research events and exhibitions, material resources and, in well-founded exceptional cases, publication projects (e.g. translations, proofreading, open access funding)."

Funding for Women

Konstanzia Transition

Konstanzia Transition provides bridge funding for female researchers (including those whose identity varies from traditional gender norms, e.g. transgender, transsex, intersex).
The funding is reserved for young female researchers who have a special funding requirement for a limited time or who are in a short-term emergency. Find more information here

Konstanzia MEiN – Mentoring with Experts and 明升体育_足球竞彩网-官网 Networking

MEiN is a mentoring programme designed to encourage female doctoral researchers (as well as researchers whose identity does not correspond to the standardized gender identities, e.g. transgender, transsex, intersex) to develop an academic career by gaining international experience. They can extend their professional network at an early stage of career by a mentoring with a renowned researcher and attend accompanying workshops. Here, you can find more information.
