Module 1: Learning

Module 1: Learning includes participation in the one-day introductory workshop and at least three sustainability seminars and thus the acquisition of nine ECTS.

Introductory workshop

Introductory workshop "Shaping a sustainable future"

Using interactive methods, the one-day introductory workshop "Shaping a sustainable future" provides participants in qualification N with an introduction to the topic of sustainability. They take a critical and creative look at ecological, social and economic issues relating to sustainability and social change. In addition to harmonising knowledge levels and providing plenty of impetus for (self-)reflection, the introductory workshop also offers plenty of space to get to know each other.

Interdisciplinary sustainability programme area of the Centre for Transferable Skills

In the Sustainability programme area of the Centre for Transferable Skills (SQ-Zentrum), participants in qualification N have access to a varied and extensive range of interdisciplinary sustainability seminars every semester. These seminars can also be regularly credited as interdisciplinary key qualifications in the degree programme.

A competence-orientated, emancipatory and solution-oriented teaching and learning approach is implemented in the courses. Innovative teaching formats such as real-world labs, blended learning concepts, simulation games and creative methods play a central role in the sustainability courses. The majority of lecturers are external sustainability experts with an academic background and a wide range of experience in politics, business and society.

You can find the complete range of seminars within the framework of qualification N at ZEuS.

Virtual Academy for Sustainability

Thanks to the long-standing cooperation with the University of Bremen, students can access the broad range of courses offered by the Virtual Academy for Sustatinability in addition to the University of Konstanz's own course programme. The blended-learning seminars on various sustainability topics can be completed at individual times and the corresponding online exam can then be taken on site at the University of Konstanz.

Creditability of a seminar from degree programme related to sustainability

One of the three courses required for the certificate can be a course  with a clear connection to sustainability from the student's own degree programme - this links the qualification N with the departments and provides impetus for integrating sustainability topics into the subject curricula.

The eligibility of subject-specific courses for credit must be individually agreed with the qualification N team in advance. Please send us an e-mail to qualifikation.n@uni-konstanz.de.

The category "Courses related to sustainability" in the course catalogue provides an overview of specialist courses with a sustainability focus.
