Short bio
After a period as junior professor, Isabell Otto has been a professor of media studies at the University of Konstanz since 2017. Previously, she taught and researched at the University of Cologne, the University of Siegen and at Ruhr University Bochum. She held a DFG research professorship as part of the research unit "Media and Participation. Between Demand and Entitlement" (in German), where she was a project leader and vice spokesperson. Isabell Otto's research focuses on digitally networked and mobile media. She is a sub-project manager at the Research Institute Social Cohesion in Konstanz, member of the Centre for Cultural Inquiry and co-founder of the GameLab at the University of Konstanz. Isabell Otto was spokesperson for the Department of Literature, Art and Media Studies, vice dean of the Faculty of Humanities and equal opportunity representative at the University of Konstanz.
